A transformational Programme to help Mothers heal, grow and rebirth themselves

I offer 1:1Ā Somatic healingĀ support to Mothers and Mothers-to-be who are looking for physical, emotional, mental and spiritual guidance surrounding Pregnancy or Motherhood. My approach is very holistic, incorporating many mind-body practices, working with the belief that our body keeps the score and is therefore our vehicle out of our darkness and into the light, returning home to who we truly are.

Becoming a mother can be a very confronting time, as all that we were, all that we know & all that we feel, comes into question. A lot of past trauma can resurface & new trauma can arise as a result of motherhood & it can cloud your whole experience - thatā€™s certainly what happened to me for the first 2 (and a bit) years.

But it can also be the gateway into a brighter, more true and abundant life if you can find the courage to work through it.Ā  I chose courage (because the only other option was even darker) & I took a holistic approach to healing my darkness & bought myself back into the light.

Now my mission is to help you find your light again.Ā 

With my 1:1Ā Somatic Trauma Healing andĀ Wellbeing Support Programme, I am here to support you on your healing journey & enable you to rise into motherhood as the woman & mother you want to be.

I promise you, it feels SO much better on the other side.

Before I tell you anymore about the Programme, Iā€™d firstly like to share my story with you to help you understand how and why I work the way I do:

From the age of 18 I worked professionally as an actress, singer and dancer. An industry Iā€™d dreamed of all my life but also when it came to it - an industry full of uncertainty, judgment, huge, magical highs, coupled with deep lows, thus creating a feeling of never ā€˜enoughā€™. I also suffered from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) from a young age which is greatly affected by stress. The two went hand in hand.

I started to support myself with a holistic lifestyle which began with a change in diet and then went on to incorporate Yoga and Mindfulness, so much so that at the age of 35, just after Iā€™d gotten married, I went to India for a month and trained to be a Yoga Teacher. This changed my life. Yoga and healthy, holistic, living became my new passion and I started teaching and mentoring women to help them turn their lives around. It felt great.

Then in 2017, my daughter was born. Motherhood hit me like a high-speed train. I lost every part of me that I had come to love. I experienced post-birth trauma (my daughter didn't take her first breath & spent her first 2 weeks in NICU). Subsequently I suffered from PTSD. I also had Postnatal Depression and Postnatal Anxiety all mixed in with intense sleep-deprivation for 2.5 years.

I lost my identity, I felt alone & isolated. I felt a lot of anger. Then past traumas resurfaced and I questioned everything I knew and was. I became incredibly judgemental towards myself and others. It wasn't the cherry on top of my previously 'perfect' life.

Aside from my daughter, the only thing that kept me alive was my healthy diet and my holistic lifestyle tools, however I wasn't able to use them the way I used to. Then one day I cracked - I hit absolute rock bottom and I knew at that point something had to change.

There were two options - end it all, or start prioritising myself, start processing and healing and nurturing myself the same way I was nurturing my daughter. So thatā€™s the path I took. I started a deep healing journey using all the tools I had learned over the years and gained some new ones. I reclaimed myself. I rebirthed myself. I became the woman and mother I so desperately wanted to be and now I am in awe of the growth and beauty of motherhood.

Donā€™t get me wrong - there are still ups and downs. Motherhood is hard and life is messy! But now that I have released myself of the emotional weight bearing and learnt how to integrate these holistic tools into my ā€˜newā€™ life, I tackle the challenges in a more positive, loving and nurturing way and I am shining brighter than I ever have before. I am forever learning and growing and falling deeper into the wisdom of my body and nature.

My experiences have provided an opportunity for huge personal growth, emotional development and a deeper understanding of what it means to be human. I now have the great pleasure of supporting other Mothers and Mothers-to-be as they embark on their journey of healing, growth and self reclamation.

What is the programme and how does it work?

My 1:11:1Ā Somatic Trauma Healing andĀ Wellbeing Support ProgrammeĀ is a 6 session programme designed to work closely with your challenges and help you process this profound shift and equip you with the holistic tools you need to make your motherhood experience, an/or journey into Motherhood feel lighter, safer, freer and more balanced.

We are holistic beings - everything is integrated. For example when we're feeling low/exhausted/depleted, our physical body starts to suffer which in turn sets off further negativity in our minds so then we reach for a crux of some kind which further exhausts/depletes us & so the vicious circle continues. And when we have children, we are at the bottom of the 'repair' list.

There are many reasons you may feel called to work with me, but here are some examples based on previous clients and the ways in which I can support you:

  • You are experiencing feelings of Anxiety, Anger, Rage, Resentment

  • You are suffering from the impacts of Trauma (during Pregnancy or birth or unresolved trauma for your past).

  • You feel a disconnection from your body, or you want to learn a more embodied way of being.

  • You feel lost, overwhelmed, or like your light has gone out, or you're no longer sure of your identity or how you fit in your life.

  • You feel disconnected from your partner and/or child.

  • You want support with healthy eating and lifestyle tips to enable you to have more energy and more presence.

  • You have tried working with a conventional therapist and you want a more mind-body approach to healing.

  • Your children have started school and now you don't know what's next for you.

  • You want support finding and trusting your intuition, and innate power and wisdom.

  • You are keen to learn a more conscious, gentle way of parenting and living.

  • You want to Mother is a way that feels different to what society or your family/friends expects but you need support in trusting this.

  • You know there is more to life than how they are feeling now.

  • You want to integrate a more holistic way of living into Motherhood.

  • You want to find a calmer, more patient way to parent.

ā€œI met Emma when I was at my lowest point. Being a new mum struggling with birth trauma and severe PTSD, if felt like I had lost my own light and couldnā€™t even see a path to escape the darkness.

Emma created a safe space in our sessions for me to show up as I was, with all my dark feelings. The sessions initially became the only time and space for me to pause, check in with myself, and breathe.

Emma was my motherhood Mentor, she helped me improve little things in my routine and life that would add up to a big impact. I liked how the steps were realistic baby steps, easy to implement in the busy life with a baby. We also worked on releasing emotions through movement, breathing and meditation.

The sessions were really fluid and based around my needs on that day. Sometimes what I needed most was to be heard and seen, cared for, supported, reassured, and advised. Emma does this so brilliantly, talking with her feels like a warm hug.

Over time, these warm hugs along with the baby steps made a real impact on my confidence as a woman and mother, and on my mental health. Together we have seen my light re appear and grow brighter, until I felt strong enough to walk on my own. Emma was such an important person within my support team during those early, dark days and I canā€™t recommend her enough if you are struggling too.

To give you an idea of the areas we are likely to explore to begin your healing:

Mental & Emotional Wellbeing - how you are feeling & coping mentally & emotionally & finding holistic approaches to manage this.

Physical Wellbeing - what you put in & on your body. Exercise. Energy, Sleep. Food/Nutrition.

Spiritual Wellbeing - your identity, your place in your life, your relationships, your dreams & desires.

The sessions will be designed around what you need to focus on & the areas in which you are struggling.

If you choose to work with me, we will meet via Zoom, or at my home in Folkestone, for 1hr a week at a mutually convenient time. The first session will be 90 minutes and in this session we can explore exactly what is causing you difficulty. This session often reveals the crux of what is going on for you and from there we can slowly peel back the layers and start to get you back on track. Depending on what needs addressing first (and we will always start with small, simple steps) I will offer you tips, advice, live guided practices, audio & video recordings, and email communication between sessions.

Investment:

Ā£555 (either weekly or fortnightly). We can of course do more than 6 sessions but they are booked in blocks of 6 at a time. Payment is required before sessions begin in order to secure your place.


The cost of the programme includes:

  • 6 x 1:1 sessions (you can choose whether we meet weekly or fortnightly).

  • Following emails after each session explaining what we have covered and next steps.

  • Regular email contact in between sessions.



    Sessions take place on weekdays, between 10am-2.30pm Mondays and Fridays, via zoom, or at my home in Folkestone, Kent.

This Programme is a fully holistic approach to your healing & growth, incorporating all the tools I have used to heal myself.

90 Minute S.O.SĀ  Sessions:

I also offer 90 Minute S.O.S Sessions if you are seeking some immediate support with a particular challenge or if you are not ready to commit to the full 6 week programme. These sessions are a deep dive into a specific area in which you are struggling. During these sessions we will explore what you are finding difficult. It is a space for you to be heard and seen. We will then work out ways for you to move forward, incorporating a variety of holistic practices which best suit your needs.

ā€œI booked a 90 minute session with Emma to get support navigating the transitioning from co-sleeping with my toddler to her being in her own cot. I subconsciously knew it was going to be a multi-layered subject matter for me and so it was amazing to have Emmaā€™s insight into the situation from a loving, non-judgemental 360 view. Emma was very quickly able to help me tune into myself, identify challenging feelings and thoughts and help me start to work through them. Using every bit of her extensive knowledge and experience, Emma guided me through what came up and allowed a safe space for me to feel.

Emma is so instinctive, open-hearted, kind and smart. She listens so carefully and then knows the right questions to ask and how to support you through whatever reveals itself.

The session was surprising because it brought up feelings I wasnā€™t expecting to feel and Emma allowed me to sit in those feelings for one of the first times. It felt like a very important step and Iā€™m very grateful to Emma for her guidance and kindness.

I feel clearer now about what emotional work I need to do - even if I donā€™t know the answers yet, Emma has helped me identify what is going on and that is such a positive step forwards. I also took away some practical tips regarding co-sleeping, night feeding, bed transitioning. It was such a valuable session.ā€

It's important to note that I am not a therapist, counsellor, or psychologist, I am a Mentor, using my various trainings in Holistic Wellbeing, including Yoga, Dance, Meditation, Trauma informed Yoga Nidra, along with my own lived experience of motherhood and healing.
